Saint-Urcisse

Saint Urcisse was founded as a bastide in 1256 by Guillaume Agasse and Pierre Ratier, from Monclar, who gave it the name Bastide de Saint Marie de Saint Urcisse. The church was built in the middle of the17 century.
Note the sculptured heads at the base of the bell tower, and inside the church the frescos by Nicolas Greshny.

The chateau dates from the 16 and 17 centuries. The gardens are very interesting with many beautiful trees. It is open to the public on special "Patrimoine" days.
